Rising rates of maternal mortality and associated disparities in the city of Philadelphia and across the U.S. reflect a national crisis. As a national leader in obstetrical care, Penn Medicine's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is highly engaged in city-wide efforts to address this crisis and is taking a multi-step approach to address maternal mortality.
